My front door lock has gotten really stiff it prob just needs a bit of oil inside - but that's a bit beyond my skills - it would end in tears I am sure

try spraying WD40 into the lock, it can help

Yeah have put some oil in there as best I can

Also try putting WD-40 on a key before inserting it; try spraying down the latch hole when the latch is drawn in.
