Has anybody got any recent recommendations for a loft conversion company??

I hear that Firmingers are very good at that as well. Did our Roof very cleanly. Heard also Top Flight are to be avoided from someone for whom they appeared when they felt like it.

A friend of mine is an EXCELLENT builder.  Has been known to build whole houses. He's not the cheapest but he's one of the best. I have worked with him on several jobs and I highly recomend him.  Would you like me to hook you guys up??

Given that if the company takes more than what was promised then the dust dirt etc become a real issue. When Firmingers did our Roof we asked the question about Loft extensions and they said that you normally with them would be booked well in advance and they would try to get it done within a timescale. They also said that you need to be prepared for the disruption it brings. Their Roof work was excellent. Also the Brother-in-law who is a carpenter has fitted out a couple of extensions they have done and he reckons the quality of the work is pretty decent.Our friend with Top Flight has the situation of not knowing when the workmen would turn up and also having long periods with no activity. So it is a case of carefull research and checking out a few other jobs. You really need to know that it will be a well resourced job that would be completed fairly smoothly within a set timescale.

Avoid Top Flight at all costs.I am in court with them, although they are now trying to settle out of court. A 6 week loft conversion took over 5 months.

I contacted them initially for a quote and didn't really like the guy.  He also didn't even go up to have a look at the loft and gave me a rough quote sight unseen.  He then recommended Richard Hindle who I did end up using.

We've just had our loft and downstairs rear extension done by Tony Murphy and his team. Delighted with the whole project, completion on time and on budget, an easy bunch to work with.  Tony Murphy, tel:  07788 871976 .  He's done quite a few lofts in our neighbourhood, so could give you a number of recommendations.

We used Scott McCabe Associates (as did our neighbour), and they were very good. We had a small problem a few months after we'd made the final payment, and they came back and fixed it.
