TOWN HOUSE REDEVELOPMENT

The proposal to turn this site into two bars is ridiculous. The place will become another haunt for chavs and troublemakers.Has Ealing not learnt a lesson here?Pizza Express (Bond Street) premises is far too small - why not invite them to move and open a new branch in the Town House?I am sure there are other reputable companies/restaurants who would die to open  a restaurant here. Ealing has "bars" coming out of its ears - for goodness sake, not two more!This site has to attract a better class of clientele. That end of town (The Mall) has more than enough naff already.Nine flats above would be a nice idea - but they would sell a lot better if there was something decent beneath.

I agree.Fuller's are no fools and they presumably sold the pub because they couldn't make any money out of it and/or there was just too much aggravation in and around the pub on Friday and Saturday nights.A Police Station on the ground floor would serve a useful purpose.

Eric I would prefer Pizza Express over a police station :)Agree the Pizza Express is far too small, especially when your struggling with a buggy too!  And they always put you at the back near the fire exit when you have kids!

It's a very good, amusing and interesting idea Eric; but I think I would still like a restaurant there - doesn't have to be Pizza Express!I am going to email Pizza Express head office and see what they think of my idea as they nearly always use "old" and interesting buildings for thir locations.

My first night in London in September 1978 included a trip to the old feathers. It was dull dreary and i have hardly been back. I would have of course been excluded on age grounds in recent years. Difficult to judge what to do as character and central ealing appear to be a concept that has long been ditched. But whatever happens no doubt money will be the key driver. Another Pub?? Or a Polyclinic with out of hours support for drink related injuries. At least when patched up it is not a long trip back to the pub. Also save a fortune on the weekend Ambulance bill and overtime.
