where can I buy wooden logs for a fireplace?

These are purely for decoration they will never be lit (well not itentionally). I want them so the oblique / round end is on show. Not something I especially like but I can't think what else to do - apart fro embroider a fire screen!

You could try a tree surgeon - they often take the branches etc away from the jobs they do and sell them to the public. They generally chop them into logs as well, although they will not be a uniform size.

Or try a petrol station - they usually sell coal and small bags of logs and kindling.

They were giving away logs at the Ealing Golf Club a week or so ago.  You could try calling them, or just popping into the car park to see if they are still available.  I guess they came from recently felled trees
