Was just thinking the same thing - would be cheaper too. I think the usual payment for a neighbour to cat sit is either a bottle of wine, beers or chocolate.

I just moved to the area recently and hired catsitter Sarah Chapman to feed my 2 kitties while I was in Australia for 2 weeks. I emailed her for updates while I was away and they were quite happy and relaxed when I returned. I would highly recommend her, here is her website:http://www.catsit.co.uk/
