Pink garden sacks

Can I still buy extraplastic pink sacks to put garden waste in or can I only use the re-usable pink sacks now? Thanks

You were buying the pink sacks?But the answer is still the same, only use the Pink square ones now.

Don't ever remember buying the pink sacks on a roll - they were delivered free by the council. You can only get the re-usable pink sack now - its free from the council.

Thanks both. I'll probably need more than my 3 alloted sacks so I guess it'll be a trip to the dump. Yes, you used to be able to buy the plastic pink sacks from the library for 5p each....before the reusable ones came in.

You serious Penny?  I had several packs as my garden needed a lot of work after I moved in, certainly don't remember paying anything for them.

Yes, I have 3 big square reusable ones but we are having major work done on the garden and I envisage needing about 10 of them so I was going to top up the reusable ones with some of the old pnk plastic ones for removal but I don't think they would take them even if I could find any of the pink sacks anymore.

When I tried to get some more sacks, I was told they only issued re-useable ones and in a time wouldn't collect the single use ones.Are the gardeners not taking the refuse away with them?  Normally disposal is part of the job.

Oh they will but they have to pay to dispose so they pass on the charge to us.

If you have a car you can take your green waste to one of the Reuse & Recycling Centres.  Or stagger the amount you put out.  We do have weekly collections.Your contractor will charge you for the waste as it is commercial waste and they will be charged when they take it to the Reuse & Recycling Centre and they should be a licensed waste carrier. Council Tax payers pay for whatever residents take or have collected in the weekly collection.Cheaper and smaller than a skip is one of the large bags you can get from the DIY stores which is then collected.These ones you can organise online:http://www.hippowaste.co.uk/waste/default.asp(They also have a lot of info about Duty of Care and the law on their website.)
