squirells

Can anyone help me with some advice to get rid of these little critters in my loft? A humane method please.

I highly reccomend the Kania traps, breaks the neck instantly.  Quick and very effective.Grey Squirrels like Foxes, Mice and Rats are legally classified as vermin, you must not catch them and release them elsewhere.  No matter how fluffy and cute they look, they are vermin.Squirrels in the loft can do a lot of damage.

They also do a lot of damage in the garden as well and yes you are right, you are not allowed to catch them and then release them elsewhere. They do have to become an ex-squirrel.If you are a bit squeamish, (like me) you could always employ a firm to get rid of them for you (perhaps that pest control firm featured in the BBC programme, The Rat Pack). They will do the necessary and will get rid of your problem.

The Rat Pack guys were from Fulham I think?  So fairly local.They really can do a lot of damage once inside a property, so you need to act quickly.When they have left the premises you will need to block up any entrances or they'll come back.

I sometimes think they are like mice - they can get through the smallest gap imagineable. You think you've blocked every single gap and they still get through - little beggars!

Someone I know also had one in his loft.  When I went round to investigate, it was out, so we blocked up the hole with chicken wire and cement.  Suddenly it went very dark and we realised that the thing was looking at us through the wire, it wouldn't move and didn't until we made a very loud noise with saucepans.  A high powered water pistol would be better.But really, a Kania 2000 trap is better.
