Hung parliament:;  avoidance of....

Adopt the first past the post system for parliamentary seats.Similar to elections where the candidate who gets the most votes is elected and all the other candidates are discarded the same this method to apply to seats in government.In the current scenario of the Conservatives having most seats, about 300, then there would be 300 or so MPs in parliament, all Conservative.Of course the number of MPs could vary from parliament to parliament.The 650 constituencies could be retained for electoral purposes but linked for the purposes of representation.Comments?

Would you have been happy with such a system for the last 13 years? MPs have proven that they can't behave given a free reign,they need opposition to keep them nearly honest.

Had the system been in place 13 years ago would we have 13 continuous years of Labour? Perhaps not.The advantage of a No opposition parliament is that there is only one party to applaud or blame.

took me a while to get that one !!! Yes......quite a good idea. A new set of rats would soon flood in though. They're a tenacious breed.

"Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland might not be too happy either"...Each of those countries has its own assembly.Either give them full independence or at the least stop their funding from English monies.Each country could still lobby Westminster and the EU for funding and if it wasn't sufficient then raise their own taxes.
