Pelican Corssing Near Tesco Uxbridge Road

Whilst I am sure you all are enjoying the lievely banter on the thread below this one, has anyone tried using this Pelican Crossing this week? I only ask as this is the third evening running when I have waited for over 5 minutes for the lights to change (yes before anyone asks the button was pressed!) and nothing has happened. Am not sure if the timer circuit has failed or whether there is a loose contact from pressing the button, but there does seem to be problem.

I've always thought that crossing none too speedy, but 5 minutes...?Get it fixed? One just can't get the staff nowadays!Incidentally I always use a knuckle to depress the button at a crossing or on a bus, never the finger tip. This does reduce the chance of cross-infection.

The button was already pressed when I got there. When I finally got across the road on Monday, after dodging the traffic I noticed that the lights still hadnt' changed by the time I got to Persian Palace.

Which pelican crossing are you talking about? I think there are three Tescos on the Uxbridge Road.

It doesn't matter now a the crossing is now working. I was talking about the one near Daniels.
