The Germans to win and then beat the Dutch. The German Clubs are better run and their whole football structure is controlled by local people. A lesson to our FA and Premier League. The Commercial side and corruption of FIFA means that many Soutyh African businesses could not get involved. so i totally agree on that. however all the fancy adverts with rooney, ronaldo etc.. who all went home early could mean that Nike Just do it could be replaced by Just go home

You don't seriously believe that they had a chance did you? Perhaps Currys (I think it was Currys)were wearing rose coloured spectacles when they advertised the offer.

Not at all. Our england team  have oversized pay packets and over sized egos. Fabio needs to look further down the leagues for the underpaid talent that would give their right arm to play and win for this country and be proud to do so. England going to the world cup was just a paid holiday for the team and a chance for the WAGS to update their wardrobe.

it's all about the money and no longer about the passion of the game. There was a time when players were hungry for a win for their country, now it's all about the pay. They should all have their wages reviewed. I guarantee the majority of these 'celeb' players would play a different game if their wages depended on the outcome of the match.

Years ago england players would get a third class ticket when travelling back to their local clubs after a game. the fa officials of course would travel first class. So imagine Wayne, Terry and co standing up on a train next to the loos on a carriage. So the likes of Tom Finney etc.. were treated appalingly and so it is good that they are treated better. but unless things change we will have a smaller group of players for capello to pick from for the next few world cups. if we get 2018 and nothing has changed in premier league and fa then expect group stage knockout.

Hopefully they can beat the Dutch and that Robben guy. He is such a diver and one of the real nasty creeps in footy today. Such talent allied to the ability to try and get other people sent off. I just liked the way Germany have played in a positive manner and perhaps if they had won people may have wondered why??? Hopefully the Xavi, Iniesta passing can stuff the Dutch on sunday. My two German colleagues will be sad but hey at least they got to the semi's!!!

It is hard to be sad with the Germans. I am but only because the result did my fantasy football score no points at all. But on Sunday I am going with my heart not my head. 1-0 to Holland. My orange shirt will be worn.

Nothing is wrong with it at all - its jsut the hype, commercialism and the over importance that is the problem.

The same could be said for many things in modern life. However for many of us that have been football fans all our lives, very little beats the thrill of seeing your team score - of being caught up in the moment of a fantastic game, the camaraderie of following your team up and down the country and across Europe, the highs and lows of extreme emotion.Yes the game has changed, yes it has some unsavoury individuals involved and the commercialism is slowly killing it, but I love it and I am sick of it being held up constantly as an example of all that is wrong in he world. Football beings people of differing age, background, cultures, social class together like nothing else I know. I have met some amazing people through this game – people I would never have met ordinarily. I just think it has become fashionable and easy to bash football and its time that people recognised some of the positive aspects of the game and what it does in this country and across the world.Rant over!!
