West Ealing Mosque

I visited the mosque for over an hour this morning. I told them I, as a local church leader would support their planning application and asked them to support our church's too. It looks as if theirs will be the best building in W Ealing. £6M and not from Saudi money says the English non-Muslim architect. No call to prayer will sound from the minaret. I met the deputy mayor there, John Gallagher. We were on the opposite sides of Ealing Council for my eight years as a councillor. I was informed there were no significant objections on planning grounds, Islamophobia not being a council planning consideration. The architect was not around in the mid 80s, the last time we had a big mosque planning battle in the borough. I do though wonder what happened to the previous thread on this. Search of the forum found no thread.

Tell you another aspect of this:  I did the Green Travel Plan in support of a Southall Mosque's planning application for expansion, and they paid me almost by return  -  despite the fact they they were outrageously messed about by Ealing Council. RESPECK!!!By contrast, SEVERAL so-called 'Christian' churches in London owe me money for similar work, and in some cases have ignored all communications and show no sign of paying. To be fair, not all behave that way, but a pattern has emerged which makes that particular category of client a bad credit risk. One specialist planning consultant in that field, TA Property, run by a 'Christian' couple, has proved even worse  -  it took me over two years to get a cheque out of them for work I'd done and for which they'd been paid  -  the cheque promptly bounced, and it turns out the firm had been trading while officially liquidated for the last few months. Not sure how this part of the 'Christian' church community can live with itself, but it seems to be able to without problem  -  a conscience-free zone?
