Late night shops

Can anyone explain why shops eg. several in Greenford are allowed to stay open all night? Also why are shops allowed to display their piles of plastc tacky goods all across the pavements way beyond the shop front limits.These shops are ugly and an eysore and even though they have huge capacity inside,they still spread this awful merchandise way outside,spoiling the good work done with the recent street paving.Greenford used to be a pleasant area to shop, but not anymore.We need to attract a better calibre of shopper by having decent shops with better quality goods...less pound,charity and "plastic' hovels.....

Where will you go for plastic tat when the boutiques come?  Where will the boutiques come from, who will shop in them.  Come on, it is Greenford!

Allowed to stay open all night?..I dont think there's a law against opening all night. I'm sure the traders are just trying to earn enough to pay there rent rates etc, I dont think anyone would work all night if they didn't have to. If it's the fruit/veg shops you're talking about, they stay open because it's easier than dismantling the stalls every night. Does it cause a problem to anyone that they're open all hours? Doesn't bother me, but i dont live in greenford.

I believe small shops can trade 24/24 but late night cafes and take aways are regulated.

If you think about it, greengrocers and proper grocers have always had their wares on show outside their shops. I don't think it causes too much of a problem - it lets the customer be guided inside. I think Marie, you are making a mountain out of a molehill.

It's also the huge shops filled with plastic and other tat which spills across the pavements outside..just ugly and unsightly ...Greenford  was once a pleasant town for shopping....not anymore....

Personally I think the shops around here are really good - a lot of variety, much better than those huge monstrosities of shopping malls that have been built in recent years. At least these local shops have personality and good service.It sounds like you have an aversion to plastic - whatever has it done to you, either that or you think you are above the people who are trying to make a living.

Well your retail requirements are set very low.Perhaps the charity shops are more your standard. I don't see anything attractive about a load of plastic buckets and tat spilling across the pavements.Greenford town is a tip with shop loads of rubbish.

Oh dear, once those plastic bucket shops move in, its the end of the neighbourhood.You know they are planning to take over the world don't you?  They have their HQ in Greenford.  From there they hold nightly meetings with the other bucket gangs and sometimes invite the washing up bowls in a bid to win the turf war against the mops.  They're the real enemy.
