Are there grouse on Ealing Common
Was rather puzzled this week to find a long letter berating the grouse and wood pigeon shooting season that has just commenced - the Glorious Twelfth - are we a borough full of folk who have taken to arms? Are there grouse just waiting to be beaten on the common? Or do some of our excellent butchers do a thriving trade in game?Maybe this is one of those mass circulation letters from an activist org just hoping there is enough apathy around so they can fill the space in local press.Instead of worrying about game birds, they would be better worrying about the increase in sales of squirrel. I also see rabbits are bounding in trade but I don't know if that metamorphosis changes the flavour
