where can you buy liners for the little food bins?

anyone know?

There was a leaflet that came with the bins which advised where you can get the bin liners.

Wilkinsons also do them, my friend has been using them for a while. They are the same colour too.

I had a feeling Wilkies would sell them. On another note has anyone noticed that the bags cause a bit of condensation in the bin and tend to leak a bit?

Lots of places sell them, but you can use any compostable bag. Wrights DIY store on Northfields Ave also sell them.

I have solved the problem - well to my satisfaction!I line the large food bin with newspaper. I keep a small ice cream carton near the sink, fill it with food scraps when I am cooking. Before the carton is full I wrap the food waste tightly in newspaper and place it in the large bin. My bin smells as sweet by collection day!Just to be doubly sure I have also attached a little bin freshener disc to the carry handle with string. It just sits inside the bin.I thought of buying the plascic bags but so far this method has worked a treat!I haven't bothered using the small green bin sp far as it takes up too much space by the sink.

I have bought these special compostible bags for the new small food bins in Sainsburys and Tescos.They are small and pale green in colour...hope that helps....

I have always used newspaper as well as it is degradable, wrapping up the accumulated scraps like a fish and chip parcel.where I live right now, our council will not offer the facility but the habit is engrained so still make the parcels and put them in one larger paper sack at a time in the communal binI prefer this to buying special products, newspapers are soon to hand

Why not try the newspaper method as Colin suggested before spending money and searching around for biodegradable bags?I wash my large food bin out with bleach after each collection day, reline it with newspaper and it is ready for the next lot of food scraps.

Waitrose at West Ealing sell small Eco-care compostable bags.  I find that if you tie a knot in the top of the bag before putting in the large green bin, you may get some condensation, but it doesn't smell.

LB Hounslow suggest that you use your shredded paper to help collect any moisture collecting at the bottom of the food waste bin.  I've always used newspaper which is increasingly hard to find :)  Oxford City Council give instructions and diagram on how to fold newspaper to line the bin!We only have small bins - imagine what is is like with a nose-high plastic wheelie bin which contains food waste for two weeks (or more if you went on holiday)!Next week is Zero Waste Week and the emphasis is on not making food waste. We are told we are wasting food  equivalent to one carrier bag in three.
