Google Earth - Tree replanting

Has anyone any idea why Google Earth has changed the images of trees from what they were to what look like fir trees. Have a look at Ealing Common, or any of Ealing parks to see what I mean.Chris

It is poor when you remember the centuries of effort to improve the accuracy and detail of maps. Ealing we know is represented by an oak and Acton was derived from oak town. Will have to hope that a universal tree isn`t introduced by the globalisers to match; the EU hockey stick lamppost comes to mind.PS. No palm trees in Tunis!

I had a look at this when Chris first posted it,I think the tree's are the correct ones but... the pictures were taken very early on January 1st. So no leaves on the trees,very low morning sun giving long shadows. I seem to remember hearing that the survey had to be done before Heathrow woke up and at lower level than usual.If you play with the "pan,tilt and height" controls I think you can see that they are the correct ones.
