Disruption to Greenford/Paddington services over Christmas/New Year period

Due to improvement works in the Reading area, disruption is expected from 27 December to 4th January. It looks as though a normal service is expected to run on Christmas Eve, although some services may finish earlier than normal. As usual, there will be no service on Christmas Day or December 26th. I wonder if it takes into consideration that ASLEF have decided to strike on Boxing Day (26th). I suppose they want to come out from behind RMT's infamy. Yes, yes, they've all got it infamy! I'll stay at home.

Thanks for the info----------------------------------------------------------From the ASLEF website.----------------------------------------------------------ASLEF members working for London Underground have voted by a majority of nine to one to take industrial action on Boxing Day. The union represents most drivers on London’s tube system, ensuring that disruption will be extensive and significant. The background to the dispute is the insistence by management that Boxing Day is ‘an ordinary working day’. The union argues that this is patently nonsense and legitimately demanded premium rates for working on the day following Christmas Day.Management failed to come forward with any proposals, and accordingly the union’s general secretary Keith Norman has written to LUL to inform them that ASLEF members employed by LUL will be withdrawing their labour for all turns commencing between 00:01 and 23:59 on Sunday 26 December 2010.‘I am prepared to discuss this with the company but if they want a meeting they are going to have to have something to put on the table,’ says Keith Norman.
