Ealing Times Editor focus on every town in Ealing please

It would seem that Ealing Times could do a whole lot better if it could pick up on Ealing Borough as a Whole. Southall,Greenford,Perivale and Hanwell readers could have as much to contribute to the affairs of Ealing Borough. If my perception is wrong let me apologise, but browsing through your News letter, it does appear to be that the other  little Towns feature way below Ealing areas .Happy Christmas .

HiIf you mean this website - Ealing Today - it was set up as a hyperlocal site covering the W5 and W13 areas.It's a community based site not a newspaper and has no staff. AnnemarieI think tha W7 should be joined in with W5 and W13 for geographical reasons. It is too far away from the other areas which you mention.Time for a change?

George I do try and include what I can from W7 because of the proximity to the W5/13 and because there is no other NNET news coverage - but again this is very reliant on community info/involvement - I think Perivale could equally argue the geographical proximity element.If you look at the rest of the NeigbourNet sites they are generally focussed on one postcode area (Acton W3, Chiswick W4, Brentford TW8 etc)basically what hyperlocal is all about. There is a danger by taking in too many areas you can spread too thin and relate to nobody.I live in my patch (as all the NNET editors do) and think it works best this way, but it is only me working on this site and I can only do so much.NeighbourNet is very open to anyone who wants to run a local site - it would certainly help me - so how about it?

How do you get all the news for the website?I would be intrested in setting up a w7 site

News comes from lots of sources - basically people. I rely on everyone that lives here and has an interest in the area to let me know of anything going on and then will try and follow up/check + chase for answers when I can.I have contacted you re HanwellBest wishesAnnemarie

Thank you Annemarie.I am happy just to contribute but will try to keep you informed if I think or hear of something.I don't see Hanwell as being linked in any way at all with Perivale which is on the other side of the A40. So far as I am concerned it might be in Brent!I see Ealing West Ealing and Hanwell as being all of a piece which is why I think W7 should be included.I think on its own W7 is not large enough to warrant its own website - at least not until many more people use this kind of facility. For instance when you look at some of the other websites, there are hardly any postings at all and I wonder if a W7 might suffer the same fate. However that is not at all to diminish Mark's interest. Perhaps he could work with you and see if W7 could be expanded and take on its own identity later if a new interest arises.

I agree with you George.I dont think there would be enough news etc to put together a seperate w7 website.

I wish there was enough for a W7 site but think that geographically it works very well as part of Ealing. It includes the 3 High Schools where most Ealing teenagers who aren't in private or church funded education go to school (I don't think there are any in W5 or W13) and south of the Uxbridge Rd and east of Boston Road, where W13 and W7 aren't divided by the railway there is no way of knowing which postcode you are in.
