Cllr Bell, the Leader of the Council, was there and he is now the man in charge of Regeneration in Ealing Council. As far as the crossing at the Lido and Hanwell, I believe that you do not really know what you are talking about here. Cllr Millican, local councillors, including myself, and council's officers worked spent four years trying to find a solution to the problems in these two junctions, as did the TfL Walkability Scheme Team. The real problem is the TfL section that looks after Transport. Time and time again they told us that they were unwilling to put a pedestrianized phase because it will slow down buses along the Uxbridge Road. In Hanwell we even looked at a scheme that would have reversed the one way system in Cherrington Road. This would have allowed a full pedestrianized phase at the Junction with Church Road - while keeping the same phases at the next set of traffic lights at the Boston Road junction. Again this scheme was rejected by TfL Transport as it would have meant that the E3 would have had to turn right at Cherrington Road rather than at Church Road and caused tail backs. I still have the plans, if you would like to see them.So please, before attacking people, for the sake of attacking them, get your facts right! If nothing has happened (and it is unlikely to happen) in these two junctions is certainly not due to the inactivity of past (or present) local councillors, portfolio holders and/or officers.
