Ealing's Golden Library Hit By Lightning Hours Before Debate On Cuts To Libraries in Ealing

I would really like to know what will be going through Council Leader Bell's mind when he gets up to lead on the deabte to cut library services in less than hour after the library in Southall has been hit by lighting closing it and also Acton Town Hall has also been hit by lightening earlier this day.I know that he a is a believer, and the words portent and sign come to mind. If I was attending this meeting I think I would make sure I had my yarmuke, taqiyah, crucifix, etc. with me depending on faith. Personally after such dire signs I would stay well away.

Did they not have lightning conductors? A correctly installed lightning conductor and cable connected to an earth spike buried in the ground should carry a continuous discharge current which reduces the danger of getting a full lightning strike as well as reducing the risk of damage from a full strike. There was a real decrease in the number of ground strikes when almost every building was fitted with a TV aerial, even though there was a resistor fitted to reduce the current and the risk of damage to the TV. (Note that every piece of hardware mounted above a building or temporary structure such as scaffolding should be grounded. I worked with vehicles that usually had metalwork above while parked, and the first thing we did was fit the earth spike and cable. It very definitely did save lives.)
