While I agree with Nigel that criticism from Americans about is inequality is increadibly hypocritical, the article pretty much sums up my feelings about this whole mess. I find it increadibly sad that kids are being put in prison and their families potentially loosing their homes and much needed help from the government for what amounts to minor shop-lifting. Those who commited assaults, arson, smashed windows, etc. should be punnished for what they did but everything should be in proportion to he crime they're being convicted of. You cannot start punnishing people for the more serious crimes of others just because they are the only people you could catch.Back to the article, it would have been easier to take if they'd made reference to the problems they have in the US and how they should be learning from it all too.
