24 hour gym

The average gym makes its money from membership fees taken in advance.  They do this because the majority of people who take out membership fail to attend after two or three sessions.  Remember the 24 hour Supermarket opening a few years back?    it didn't take off.  It is quite likely the same thing will happen with the gym. However, there is an important point to follow up and that is the lack of consultation.

Let me get this straight, you don't like this gym because it takes money from people that are lazy? What's the difference if they pay after the gym opens and don't attend after that?

I think the point was more about whether there was longevity in the business model rather than being pro or anti gyms.

I think everybody freaks out about the parking spaces right now. His post wasn't mature enough to suggest a flaw in the business model. I like a gym that's open 24 hours even though I don't see myself attending after midnight.

Its a great idea that a gym is open 24/7 IMHO.Why does it need consultation, when the building is already build and the original plan was to have some kind of fitness centre on site as part of the health centre idea.If a business wants to open 24/7 and has the right permissions. Why do you care about its viability???
