Crossrail/HS2

These will make very little difference to the better,well serveed parts of Ealing but the not so good parts, Hanwell/Southall/West Ealing will benefit as the transport links to and from there at the moment is pretty rubbish.If you live in S/N Ealing The broadway or Common you could literally work anywhere with little difficulty.

CrossRail is the biggest and most exciting construction project ever, in my humble opinion. It'll take a long time to complete and will give countless benefits, but will be worth the wait. When will Ealing Broadway Station have its passenger escalator(s) completed and ready for use?

CrossRail will be a great opportunity to improve various stations in Ealing. I feel ashamed when using our underground rail network. Came back home to Ealing after visiting Singapore - what a let down to use our tube system after the super efficient, clean, safe and pleasant Singapore MRT system - ours made me annoyed, which is a shame 'cos we showed the world how to build a decent(once) underground rail network for a city. Let's hope the coming of CrossRail will restore some pride in our rail system. Any comments?

Not really a fair comparison gerry.The OLDEST part os the Singapore MRT was built in 1987 just 124 years after the first section of the London Undergound. 'The Tube' has suffered from years of chronic underinvestment and the ridiulous PFI initiatives of the Labour administration. It's going to take time to get things up to a leading 'world-class' standard. It's smelly,hot, crowded and bloody expensive but it still carries over 1.1 billion passengers every year (and that was before the 'uplift' for the Olympics). It could be better but then so could everyting.
