Sharpening garden tools

Can anyone recommend a local tool-sharpening service - garden shears, that kind of thing - please?

B & Q has a (professional) sharpening block which claims can sharpen shears.  Failing that, LIDL on Uxbridge Road (the one with the car park) has expandable shears for £6.95 as of yesterday.

There is a chap on the A5 (just off) who sharpens scissors, shears, chisels etc. He charges £11.50 to grind and sharpen a pair of shears. Setting and grinding properly takes him about 20 minutes, so I consider the rate fair but who would do it when you can buy a new pair for just over half that amount?I asked the question on a photography forum that I moderate and it seems that the USA (the ultimate throw away society) still has a grinder and sharpener in most towns; as good tools are expensive.

In the USA, when you have a yard sale or a house auction where the auctioneer comes to the house and sells everything in it (normally a deceased's estate), people always asks if there are any tools.
