Mine is good old Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. I've watched his shows since his first series - cook on the wild side. He drove around the UK in an old converted, beat up Land Rover. Then he settled down for River Cottage. I still watch him now and like his cooking. His portion size is a little mean though :-)

Obsession maybe Keith, but we all have to eat, some of us five times a day, so we can't help but get the TV chefs shoved down our throats ad nauseum and ad infinitem.

Like you David, I'm partial to Fanny occasionally - I rather warm to assertive women - they have so much more to offer, like Janet Street-Portaloo and Edwina Currie as well. But poor old Mr. Craddock - he led a dog's life.
We have always had to eat and I wonder how we all used to manage before the almost endless stream of cookery programmes on TV. There were far fewer of us who were obese in those days.
Rachel Khoo, but it took me a full series of The Little Paris Kitchen to notice she cooks/bakes.

I never watch cookery programmes for I believe that cookery like sex is not a spectator sport. For other reasons I do not watch reality TV, soaps, medical, DIY or property programmes either.

Downton, Doc Martin (breaking my no medical rule), period dramas, news, documentaries especially historical, police and crime dramas, Gareth Malone's choirs, Antiques Roadshow, several quizzes and Have I Got News For You.

Answering my own question, I like Nigel Slater best, with Rick Stein and the lovely Ms Nigella Lawson coming a close second and third. Any others?
