Budget Day surprises ?

I wonder what good surprises Mr George Osborne has in his red box for later today? He says The Economy is picking up since 2008, but I don't feel it in my pockets.  Any ideas?

A real surprise would be if the MPs in the House of Commons behaved like professionals and didn't shout like public school boys during the Budget speech. Ealing Council are not much better - lots of bun throwing and very little sense.

The rowdy shenanigans and audience participation is all part of the Budget Day bun fight - I like it - life's too important to take too seriously imo.As regards the Budget, I quite like earning £10,500 before the IR takes tax, the simplifying of ISAs into one package with an inmcrease in the max each year and the proposed Child Care allowances for working Mums and Dads. All in all, Mr Osborne has done well I believe.

Much smoke and mirrors - Welfare and Benefits has been taken out of this budget and will be voted on next week in a separate Bill nest week to cap the Welfare budget for 2015-2016. Wait until next week before counting chickens, etc.

Perhaps they were not shouting like public schoolboys.Ed Millie was caught on the hop. Odd how he seems to have completely forgotten what a mess his party handed the coalition. Anyone would think that life would have improved under the coalition on day one. I do wish the Labour party would stop treating us as fools.Ed Balls is getting more and more like a superannuated music hall character.

Whatever one thinks of the Budget, I think it's mainly a good one, at least for the 'silver voter' and those who value work, saving and pensions.

True, they were shouting public schoolboys rather than shouting "like" public schoolboys. However, should we be rating politicians on the basis of which one has the best acting skills when speaking, or on the basis of results?

Should we be so concerned with class?You are aware that Ed Balls had a private education? I dont want this buffoon anywhere near the Exchequer thanks. He is a party to our wrecked economy which the other side of the House is trying to sort out. Naively the Coalition is being blamed for not improving our standard of living.Do Socialists never think that if wages had gone up to improve the standards of living they wanted then it might have been that many more would have lost their jobs? Personal Allowances have gone up in percentage terms considerably. Surely this has helped more than we realise?Have you noticed today the even the Guardian has struggled to rip the budget into shreds? Even they to my astonishment agree the gap between poor and rich has narrowed.Osborne can barely move due to the constraints. There was a little bit for many in this Budget.Yes the deficit will come down later than predicted in 2010. It will come down even more slowly under Labour because they will be too afraid to make cuts on a large scale. With them we go back to living beyond our means. No thanks.
