Reliable cleaner in Northfields area?

Can anyone recommend a reliable, good cleaner that covers the Northfields area?  Would like a cleaner on a weekly basis for approximately 3 hours a week, who can also speak enough English. Thanks!

Green bag for paper recycling

I,ve just found a green bag outside my door for paper recycling and on the label there is a picture of 3 different coloured bags for paper, glass and plastic.  I can only presume these are replacing the green bin and white sacks.  Fine in theory but they look like shopping bags and what about tins that used to go in the green bin.  I have animals and therefore quite a lot of tins, so what am I supposed to do with those - no rude answers please

TFL is going to love Ealing when their main road is strewed with rubbish from torn bags.  Is it time this so called Gov't did the honourable thing and stepped down or call for a new election?  At the least get rid of the incompetent fools who created this farce.

Waste food still not collected in Church Gardens after waiting a full week - truly Beyond Disrespect

So, Councillor Mafouz, all this ostentatious eating of humble pie in public and all your assurances are worthless. No 'Bicycling Bassam' or officers spotted in this neglected backstreet, and endless waits on Council phoneline (boy am I sick of that repetitive dreary whining muzak) despite claims of extra customer 'services' phoneline staffing.The story from Church Gardens, South Ealing:- Black sacks and dry-recycling green boxes were collected on normal day (Tuesday) last week but not the food waste. After waiting a day or two I phoned to report this last Thurdsay and (when I eventually got through) was assured it would be collected from this street by end of next day (Friday) at latest. It wasn't. So, phoned up again today, no explanation as to why the promised 'mop-up' late collection didn't happen - just an assurance that it would be collected by end of tomorrow (Wed). No answer to my query as to how we could be sure that would happen in view of last week's failure, or what we are supposed to do about the accumulated waste if it wasn't.Tomorrow is the due day for refuse and recycling collection here - day later than normal due to bank holiday. I have no confidence whatever that performance will be any better than last week, and am not prapard to risk being lumbered with this container of festering food waste - some of it now a fortnight old - for a further week or more, plus the last few days' further accumulation.So, all that will be going into the black sack tomorrow morning, as will all this household's food waste from now on. The weekly task of dealing with this muck and cleaning out the container after collection (otherwise it stinks) was a messy time-consuming stomach-churning weekly task at the best of times. I see no reason to be lumbered with it if the Council isn't going to bother to collect it or to rectify pronto if it's missed on normal collection day.Well done Ealing Council!!

See if it settles

Clearly it has been an inept start to the cleansing contract and given that this has happened on several previous occasions, inexcusable.As it seems to be acceptably normal for teething troubles of this sort and that it is easter week which always creates a hiccup, the proof of the pudding will be from next week.What is clear is that the plant being used for the job is way too big for too many streets.How can the council officers or councillors not questioned that right from the start when plenty on this very forum raised this at the first hint of a change of contract?If it is still poor by next friday week then officers and councillors responsible will have to do the honourable thing, accept failure of duty and resign.  Nothing less will be satisfactory.

This disgusting film set to appear in America later this year depicts  Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals!  As a play, this has already been in theatres for a while.  It's called " Corpus  Christi " which means "The Body of Christ".  It's revolting mockery of our Lord.  But we can make a difference.That's why I am sending this e-mail to you.  If you do send this around,  we just might be able to prevent this film from showing in Australia. eBay Trading Assistants / agents. Recommendations sought. 

A friend has a small mountain of clothing (including furs!)and other personal items that she wants to dispose of for modest sums of money.Can anyone recommend an eBay agent..perhaps working from home...who would charge a modest fee? According to the eBay website such people are called Trading Assistants.Oh the joys of decluttering!  Any suggestions?

Ealing is a Dumping Ground for some!

Why oh why do some people get away with throwing sofas, mattresses, old TV sets etc out on the pavement instead of, donating it to a charity, paying a small fee to the council, or taking it to the local Council Dump?Who do they imagine clears up their rubbish...the fairies?It must cost the Council to send a lorry to collect flytipped items from locations around the borough, yet those responsible seem to get sway with dumping rubbish all over the place.I am aware that a number of businesses have been fined for flytipping but what about householders? I think some irresponsible landlords are guilty of throwing unwanted mattresses in the street when clearing our flats, so why do they get away with it?

What would be your thoughts on HOT FOOD costs>

If i was served food in a retaurant and it was not as HOT as when it was prepared , can One claim it could not be charged as "HOT FOOD". Freshly cooked food is HOT ,but stored under display cabinets the food is perhaps just warm ? Just Curious .

It was interesting to read the appologies made by Councillor for the failure of the New Rubbish collecting Contractors . May I say that the display of the councillors photograph is so unlike Mr Baffouz that he might as well have submitted a picture of Prince William and claimed to be him. Forgiven Councillor . You are a handsome specimen but that picture is NOT YOU.

Ealing Job seekers who signed on this Tuesday and Wednesday go without benefit.

100s of claimants of Job Seekers allowance who attended the West Ealing office Tuesday & Wednesday (3rd & 4th April) this week, will have found there is no money for them as promised on Thursday 5th. What has happened? The person whose job it was to "advance" the payments on Monday (due on good Friday etc), to be avalable on Thursday failed to do so."Give us an over the counter giro instead? I asked" This was a possibility as the "in the system" payment could still be cancelled, however this would alert the department to what cock-up has happened, so this was refused, As were any other payments asked for. We are told "You will have to wait until next Tuesday for any money". For the first time, me with my so-called right wing views, actually felt for those around me in this job centre, it's such a pity the numbers involved could not organise themselves into a loud protest.I would have even joined in any unrest against the staff there who's only care was to save face, even at the cost of forcing others to suffer over the holiday. I'm lucky in having the family to help me out, many of those there won't have anyone.

Filth of South Ealing Shopkeepers

You would think that the most pleased of folk with the smart new paving along South Ealing Road would be the shopkeepers,But A walk up from Murray Road to South Ealing Station today shows that could not be further from reality.More than a few sections of nice new paving is filthy dirty, sticky and disgusting as it ever was.The evidence is there for all to see. Food vendors obviously wash out their premises and stop at their doorways. The result is all the dirt and residue all over the pavements.I cannot understand the mentality of these businesses, such slovenly presentation reflects so badly on them that it must also damage their businesses. So many shops, cafes and food outlets in particular will happily trade with dog turds and vomit outside the shops.It should be a prerequisite to the lease that all traders keep the frontage as far as the kerb clean.Shops always used to do this whether it was a food store or a hardware shop.This must surely be an environmental health issue?

Im sure I clicked on a website the othe day that was about Ealing developments. Had links/info to the Arcadia centre re-development, the tube station plans etc but I can't find it anywhere.Does anyone know what I'm talking about?!?
