inaccurate report west ealing crash

The report on West Ealing Crash Update Tuesday alleges buses were diverted via the back roads of Eccleston, Felix and Alexandria.These roads are not suitable for bus use and if any bus went down there it was without authorisation.As it was the obstruction was the Ealing side of Northfield Avenue so the diversion would not be required.Most buses were directed to use Northfield Avenue but many remained parked on Uxbridge Road until London Buses officials arrived at scene.There was  a second spell of disruption when the road was closed again at 1800 to enable vehicle recovery which took longer than expected.

Dog Cage

Does anyone have a dog cage i could borrow for a week or buy if needs be? My cat has just come home from the vet after being in for a nasty gash on her tummy and we cannot allow her to jump for a week whilst it heals. Thought a cage would be the best thing. Many thanks

West Ealing on TV

Have just watched the show on iplayer.  Fairly bleak?  It was downright miserable!We know things are not as rosey as they once were, but does it really help to write and broadcast such a negative and inaccurate picture?  It looked like the TV people went to West Ealing, Notting Hill and Fulham to film every closing down sale sign and deserted shop they could find and was that a howling wind right at the start?

Speed Limit Hangar Lane???

Can anyone confirm if the speed limit has been changed on the Hangar Lane/North Circular stretch of road from Hangar Lane Roundabout down to Madeley Road and vice versa? It was always 40mph then last month flashing signs on top of the hill showed ''slow down 30mph''. There are 2 speed cameras southbound and the same northbound. Tonight I saw a warning 30mph sign by the 1st camera but then further down it said 40. Totally confused and I would think a lot of other motorists  are going to get caught out.

High Speed Train Route versus Mipim

"I saw the map of the route and it set off quite a few alarm bells. We want to know more about the impact it's going to have on the people who live here as we understand there will have to be demolition of properties to enable it to happen. The devil is in the detail and the first bit of detail has not been good." Cllr Jason Stacey leader of the council on the high speed train route. "I believe we are actually in better shape than ever to continue the transformation of our borough......" Pat Hayes Ealing Council's Director for Regeneration and Housing on ealinginlondon website. He and Lucy Taylor Director of Regeneration and Planning Policy are at Mipim in Cannes this week 16-19 March to sell? 32 council owned sites and 100 other sites. She is chairing the first presentation on the forum stage entitled,"Development Opportunities in Ealing London" Some of these "opportunities" will certainly involve demolition of properties to enable it to happen with it seems no health and education contingency planning for 14000 new households. I hadn't seen the map and details for more than a few days when it disappeared but it set off quite a few alarm bells. PT wrote on 16 Nov 09, "It is not my area and I really don't know the details." Why hadn't Cllr David Millican (Portfolio holder for Planning and Regeneration) told him about something so important?I believe the detail is being kept secret. Anyone know any more and anyone heard alarm bells?

A Congestion Charge for Ealing?

Having just read a few reports on the SEC meeting held a few weeks ago, I'm slightly worried that Bassam Mahfouz, the Labour candidate in Ealing and Acton, appears to want to impose a congestion charge on Ealing to pay for planned improvements to EB station? This seems a completely crazy thing to suggest, can anyone enlighten me further on this??

Moving To Ealing Advise

HiI am moving to Ealing in the next couple of weeks. However the street I am moving to is not in a CPZ, I have noticed that during a week day, there is no parking spaces available on that street (I suspect due to people parking there and walking to the tube) and as it is not in a CPZ  I cannot apply for parking suspension, I am going to have a problem with where to park the Removals truck? Council Online Planning Application Service Crashes

The Council provides an online weekly Planning Application listing service. You can find new Planning Applications and click onto them to get details of the applications.Well you could up until last Saturday. Since then the service has been down - now for four days.We are all unable, for example, to access details of the largest planning application submitted for the central Ealing area within living memeory (P/2010/4018/9). Green Man Lane Estate, 200 yards south west of West Ealing Station, is to be demolished; sold off to property developers; and replaced with 721 new homes. The size of the development is that of some six football pitches - 11.5 acres. No shops, no schools, no healthcare, no law and order, no sport, no leisure and no culture can be found in the plans. There is no planned integration of the new estate with the immediately adjacent centre of West Ealing or with the planned new Singapore Road Mosque which will attract 3,000 worshippers every Friday.The Council has allowed just 42 days for public consultation. For those with full-time jobs who can't view the plans in Room 58 at Perceval House and are now unable to view the plans online they trully are currently disenfranchised.
