There is now a new and exciting Theatre School based in Ealing, London.As of the 19th September 2009 the doors opened on a new dawn of Theatrical learning for 4 to 16 year old children in and around Ealing. Can anyone help please?

My cat was hit by a car and has a broken pelvis.He may be allowed home tomorrow on 6 weeks cage rest.I am in desperate need of a crate for him, with enough room for him to stretch out and have food and water bowls and a litter tray in.To buy or borrow would be fantastic.If anyone can help I would be so grateful.Many thanksSam

Advice Required - Broken Floor Lamp

Recently my lovely floor lamp that has served me well over a number of years broke. I did the usual and changed the bulb (several times) but still not working.  I thought I would then check to see if it was the fuse. Having looked at the plug it is one of those moulded ones that you cannot open.  The only thing I can think of is to cut off the cord, buy a new plug and re-wire it which seems a bit of a palava especially if it isn't the fuse!  Any ideas/suggestions as I don't want to go out and buy a new lamp quite yet?

We all agree that we want our local businesses to survive and prosper. Too many local shops are closing down and being boarded up or turned into bookies or £1 shops.Ealing Council have taken great initiative and made a website showing local businesses that offer discounts or have special offers . So, if you are a local business go to the website and list your offers/discounts.Or if you want to support local shops and restaurants, go to the website, click the area (Acton, Ealing etc.) or type of business (Health & Beauty, Eating & Drinking, Electrical etc.) and just click to get a voucher.Nearly forgot (doh!) CrossRail and Station Access

At LBE's Crossrail Scruitny Panel last night, the second sentence the lady from Network Rail uttered was "There will be no drop off facilities at any of the CrossRail stations in West London"!  If I had been chair I would have closed the meeting and told her to come back when NR and Crossrail had thought through how people were going to access the stations!  Bus access also had not been properly planned. This is NR bullying and LBE and their residents need to stand up to them.

Vouchers for moscow state circus?

Can anyone tell me what shops have them?The last time the circus was here i got the vouchers from the Polish Delicatessen opposite Ealing Broadway Station, but they don't have them this year.Thanks!

Kwik Fit

They have their own bad service site on the internet and do they deserve it!  The adverts on television are nothing like the reality.  Anybody else had problems with them?Perhaps instead of complaining to Kwik Fit which gets you nowhere we need to go to the Advertising Standards Authority and complain about misleading advertising.

LOST: Black Male Cat - Northfield Ave area

My lovely boy cat has gone missing since Tuesday 12th October.It's an all-black cat, with a slight kink in the end of his tail.Average size. Also, he doesn't miaow (or make any noise for that matter).  He is also scared of loud noises, so he may have hidden away.His name is Boniface.....and is 15 months old.Can people check their sheds and garages or allotment sheds to see if a black cat has been trapped/locked inside. Around the Northfield Ave/Leighton Road area but he may have gone further afield.Please PM me if you find him.... Thanks :)

Pub Sunday Lunches

I noticed there is a review for The North Star on the home page but I thought nevertheless I would ask if anyone can really recommend any pubs in the locality for a really good Sunday roast lunch consisting of actual real meat!  Or perhaps I should say, what I call real meat i.e. cut from a joint not slices of catering meat that I haven't eaten since my school dinner days a very long time ago!I am beginning to think that either I am extremely hard to please or everyone else is extremely easy to please and I'm really not sure which it is.Last Sunday, quite by accident, I found myself in the Fox in Green Lane, Hanwell, with my sister who talked me into ordering lunch.  (We did this once before well over a year ago and I had forgotten how poor I had thought it then).  Anyway, all the tables appeared to be reserved but we knew someone who was already there and so we shared their table.  They ordered beef we ordered lamb.  The people on the next table ordered chicken (pork was not an option) however between us we seemed to have covered all options.  All meals arrived and were school dinners - meat was some generic sliced catering meat with a very vague lamb flavour - veg was real and ok - cauliflower cheese (virtually minus cheese) decent roast pots and mash (which was unnecessary) carrots and ?  What appeared to be home made Yorkshires (burnt) and tasteless gravy of a muddy consistency all that for £9Perhaps it's just me because the place was certainly busy both inside and out so presumably they are doing something right but I'm blowed if I know what.The week before we had lunch in the Globe in Brentford where we had pork which though not great was at least cut from a joint and gravy was at least tasty.  However I did notice that the beef and chicken also appeared to be catering slices.  However they were only charging £5.95 and offering 20% off for pensioners or students.  Not great but definitely better than The Fox and obviously cheaper.Since the Nelson (also in Brentford) changed hands (they used to do a Sunday roast beef/pork/lamb/ half a chicken - all organic for £7.50) we are at a loss to find a decent Sunday lunch at a fair price.  Surely there must be a pub somewhere capable of using real meat and making gravy that tastes of something - anyone know where that is?

Charity clothes collections

Why is it that the people who leave those binliner-type bags for us to fill with unwanted clothes etc., along with a note that they'll be back on Mon/Tues/Weds whenever, NEVER, EVER come back to collect??? why?????????????????????????????

New Restaurant -

http://www.fogo.uk.com/ Going into what used to be Bella Pasta (urgh!!) at the top of Hamilton Road. Looks good, but then it can't be any worse than an "Italian" restaurant that sells Italian Burgers and Italian spicy chicken wings....very authentic
